Name Control Center pages
Allow users to assign custom names to Control Center pages such as "Media", "HomeKit", "Accessibility", or "Work" for better organization and potential Shortcuts integration.
Currently, Control Center pages are identified only by their position and generic dot indicators, making it difficult for users to remember which page contains which controls, especially when using multiple customized pages.
Benefits of named pages:
- Better organization: Clear identification of each page's purpose
- Shortcuts integration: Enable Shortcuts actions to show/hide specific named pages
- Accessibility improvements: VoiceOver could announce page names instead of "page 1 of 3"
- Visual consistency: Names could appear in editing mode or as tooltips
Related improvements: This feature would complement other customization requests across Apple's ecosystem:
- Name Apple Watch faces - for organizing watch face collections
- Name home screens - for organizing app layouts
Together, these naming capabilities would create a consistent pattern of user-controlled organization across iOS interfaces, making complex customization setups more manageable and intuitive.
