Share Your Screen in FaceTime

During a FaceTime call, you can share your entire screen with the other person — great for walking someone through settings, showing them something on your phone, or troubleshooting together.

How to use it

  1. Start or join a FaceTime call
  2. Tap the Share Content button (the screen-sharing icon in the call controls)
  3. Select Share My Screen
  4. A 3-second countdown appears, then your screen is broadcast to everyone on the call
  5. To stop sharing, return to FaceTime and tap Stop Sharing

Good to know

  • Screen sharing in FaceTime requires iOS 15.1 / iPadOS 15.1 / macOS Monterey 12.1 or later.
  • Notifications are automatically hidden while you're sharing your screen to protect your privacy.
  • On a Mac, you can choose to share your entire screen or just a specific window.
  • This is part of Apple's SharePlay framework, which also lets you watch movies, listen to music, or use apps together.
