Tip
Continuity Camera: Scan Documents with iPhone from Mac
With Continuity Camera, you can use your iPhone's camera to scan documents directly from your Mac — the scanned file appears on your Mac instantly.
How to use it
- On your Mac, right-click (or Control-click) in a Finder window, document, or supported app like Pages or Notes
- Select Import from iPhone or iPad → Scan Documents
- Your iPhone's camera will open automatically with the document scanner
- Position the document in the camera view — it auto-captures when edges are detected
- Tap Save on your iPhone, and the scanned PDF appears on your Mac
Good to know
- Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple Account with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.
- This works in Finder, Notes, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Mail, and many other apps.
- You can also use Import from iPhone → Take Photo to quickly snap a photo that appears on your Mac.
